With the sounding of the gong for 2023 electioneering campaigns by The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Atiku Democratic Movement (ADM) has assured Nigerians of their readiness to take the message of hope, progress and prosperity envisioned by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential flagbearer, His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, to every nook and cranny of Nigeria.
The Akwa Ibom State Coordinator of ADM and a former gubernatorial aspirant, Obong Ide Owodiong-Idemeko, stated the resolve when he led a nine-man delegation of members on a visit to the State Chairman of PDP, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Akpan, to brief him on the readiness of the group to partner with the leadership, in order to ensure that the Party is successful at the polls especially in the State and also, nation-wide.
Obong Owodiong-Idemeko said, “We are here to meet with you (State Party Chairman) to acquaint you of the Group’s existence before the official flag-off of the Presidential Campaign tomorrow”, saying that “ADM is not a support group like others but an organization formed by His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar himself”.
The ADM coordinator, also informed the Akwa Ibom State PDP Chairman, that the group has nominated him as a Patron to ADM.
The South-South Contact and Mobilization Director of the group, Chief Solomon Essien who was also at the meeting, stated that all the 36 States Coordinators of ADM are expected to be at the CampaignfFlag-off event Uyo, the State’s capital, on Monday October 10, 2022 and disclosed that some of them had already arrived for the event.
The State Chairman Hon. Akpan, in his response thanked the group for coming together to work for the success of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and other candidates of the Party, noting that the Party needs the support and collaboration of all members to achieve the desired goal of victory at all levels.
He also promised to work closely with the group haven observed the caliber of its membership and its mission, saying he would consider the role of Patron to the group when he formally receives the letter of appointment.
Present at the meeting was ADM Akwa Ibom Organizing Secretary, Dr. John Obisung, who gave the vote of thanks, commending the Chairman for finding time to meet with them, even at such short notice and more so, at the eve of the flag-off event.
Other members of the delegation included; Mrs. Grace Ekpe, State Deputy Coordinator; Mrs. Princess Ima Jim, State Secretary; Mr. Aniebiet Udosen, Assistant Secretary; Pst (Mrs) Sylvia Ekong, State Woman Leader; Mr. Nsikak Ubaha, State Contact and Mobilization Officer; and Obong Emmanuel Ukim, former PDP Chapter Chairman and Uyo Fed. Constituency Coordinator of ADM; and, a Patron of the group, Mr. Emmanuel Abasifreke, CEO/MD of Villa Hilton Hotels and Apartments, etc.
