The National Coordinator Peter Obi National Support Group (PONSG) Churchill Enyia has dismissed insinuation in some quarters that Labour Party did not possess high level political structures capable of delivering electoral victory for its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.
Addressing party stalwarts during the inauguration of Peter Obi National Support Group, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter over the weekend in Abuja, the National Coordinator informed that the PONSG has been inaugurated in 27 states and the FCT.
He equally posited that structures backing Peter Obi’s presidential ambition are poor Nigerians, striking university lecturers, unemployed youth and Nigerians who are suffering economic hardship caused by the present administration.
“We have the North East Academic Community for Peter Obi, South-South Academic Community for Peter Obi and Nigerian Professionals for Peter Obi and still counting. We want to be at the grassroots; educate the masses and show them our party logo.
“It is not a job for individuals; it is a team work. Let us look beyond Peter Obi; let us look at our battered economy. Nigeria is the only country that transports crude oil to Europe, refine and transport it back and forget about the by products.
“We are not sharing money; we need to sensitize our people. Let us take this country back,” he concluded.
Responding on behalf of the FCT PONSG, Deacon Ben Arungwa, the FCT Coordinator solicited for the cooperation of all party loyalists towards mobilizing all FCT residents for Peter Obi.
“To my Executives and Directors of various standing committees, I want you to know that I am accepting the challenge of this office on behalf of all of you. I cannot do it alone. We have worked together since we were appointed. So let us continue to make it a team work.
“Remember that we have a programme of action for massive sensitization and mobilization of support for Peter Obi and Ahmed Datti across the various Municipal Area Council, Wards and Units in FCT, Abuja.
