The government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has recently reviewed its single-entry visa policy, a move that has affected travelers from Nigeria and about 14 other countries.

This is a significant update for travelers from the affected countries. The new single-entry visa rule means that visitors must plan their trips carefully, as they won’t be able to extend their stay after 30 days.

The restriction is likely a response to previous visa misuse and the challenges of managing Hajj pilgrim numbers, especially after the tragic incidents in 2024.

The new rule will affect tourists, business visitors, and those traveling for family visits, from the following nations: Algeria, Bangladesh, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Jordan, Morocco, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, Tunisia, and Yemen.

For Nigerians planning to visit Saudi Arabia for tourism, business, or family visits, it’s crucial to;
apply for the visa early to avoid delays, ensure compliance with visa conditions to prevent issues with Saudi authorities and follow official updates from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in case of any changes.

Since the policy does not affect Hajj, Umrah, diplomatic, or residency visas, religious travelers can still apply under the usual procedures. However, stricter enforcement of Hajj quotas means pilgrims should also ensure they have the proper permits.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs urges people to stay informed through official sources.
