His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has appointed Senator Dino Melaye and Dr. Daniel Bwala as Spokespersons for 2023 presidential campaign.
According to a press release signed by Atiku Abubakar’s Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, the appointments take immediate effect.
Melaye is a frontline public affairs analyst, politician and a former senator who represented Kogi West Senatorial district in the 8th Senate Assembly. He hails from Ayetoro Gbede in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Hon. Daniel Bwala is an international legal practitioner, politician, lecturer, networker and public affairs analyst. He was a member of the ruling APC government until a few weeks back, when he left the party in anger when their presidential candidate Asiwaju Tinubu named ex-Governor Shettima of Borno State as running mate, making it a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
Bwala left the APC, saying that despite the religious concerns threatening the unity of Nigeria, the APC went ahead to ignore a dominant religious flank, an action he said does not seat with his conscience and he promptly resigned from the party and joined the PDP.
In Bwala’s words: ”At this point in the history of our nation, all of our focus, energy and effort should be directed towards bringing our people together”.
Bwala hails from Borno State, same state as the APC presidential running mate.
According to Barrister Charles Ebhoman, “Dino needs no introduction to Nigerians and he has been an outspoken politician, while Bwala, my professional colleague is well-suited for the job”. He added that the campaigning process this time around would be facts-based on known public issues.
