This development, according to Oyarekhua, reflects the potential benefits of public-private partnerships in enhancing local petroleum production and refining, as advocated by the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).
Mr. Oyarekhua highlighted that the commencement of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) production by Dangote Refinery marks a significant milestone, not just for the refinery but also for CORAN’s commitment to contributing to Nigeria’s economic growth and development.

The association emphasized the importance of leveraging modern technologies and techniques to create a value chain that connects markets across the country, thereby enhancing productivity and economic growth.
The CORAN Boss acknowledged the federal government’s support for the refinery and encouraged other stakeholders to take similar steps to address Nigeria’s energy security and poverty challenges.
Furthermore, Mr. Oyarekhua suggested that if the Dangote Refinery model is effectively implemented, it could serve as a blueprint for other investors, fostering growth in Nigeria’s petroleum sector.
