Relaxing in the convivial atmosphere of home, H.E. Atiku Abubakar was al smiles and back-slapping with the local people, some of whom had known him as a little orphan boy who defied all the vagaries of life to rise into national prominence.

Atiku, who holds the traditional title of The Wazirin Adamawa, was welcomed in the civic reception organized in his honour by the Jada Local Government Area council. The Chairman of the local government, Hon. Salihu Mohammed So’o, in his welcome remarks, stated how proud they were of their son Atiku and pledged their loyalty and support for his candidature in the presidential elections.
In a show of emotions, the ‘home-boy’ remarked how he felt truly pampered by the people and pledged to work to unify the country and will always remember the positive influence he had from the community in his early days in life.

In his address at the occasion, the national campaign spokesperson of the PDP, Senator Dino Melaye highlighted the significance of the home coming which shows that the former vice-president knows his roots, unlike some other candidates whose background are shrouded in mystery and confusion. He stated that Atiku is the most credible candidate, being a detribalized statesman who has what it takes to save the country from the seemingly intractable socio-political logjam and abysmal developmental drift.
The Adamawa State governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri thanked Atiku for identifying with his people. He assured the PDP standard bearer of their support which will ensure victory for him at the polls, in order for him to use his wealth of experience and uncommon patriotic zeal to rescue the country and reposition her to achieve greater prosperity for all.

Responding, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar thanked his people for their prayers and good wishes. He urged them to exercise their electoral franchise in his favour, which will enable him to take back the country and ensure a better future for all. He reiterated his resolve to be a good ambassador of his people and the country and promised to work for the unity, peace and progress of the nation, if elected.
