The Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has warned Nigerians traveling abroad for greener pastures to desist from leaving the country because there are no tangible jobs anywhere; particularly in the United Arab Emirates.

Abike stated this on Thursday, in Abuja, when she appeared before the House Committee on Diaspora to defend the Commission’s 2023 budget.

She urged Nigerians to stop migrating to other countries; especially the UAE if they don’t have jobs there.

According to her, 80 percent of prisoners in Dubia are Nigerians who went there without jobs and got into trouble.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Committee on Diaspora, Hon. Tolulope Sadipe in her contribution revealed that Nigerians in the diaspora are making positive contributions worldwide; even though bad elements are bedeviling the work of the immigration service.
