CDS Pays Courtesy Visit to IGP, Seeks Ways for Improved Synergy Amongst Security Agencies

… CDS stresses the need for joint training, social engagements, reorientation of security operatives nationwide

In a bid to boost inter-agency synergy and ensure harmony as the Military gets more involved in improving the internal security of the country, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, on Thursday, 30th November, 2023, received the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Gwabin Musa OFR, and other senior military officers to the Nigeria Police Force headquarters in Abuja.

During the meeting, General Musa congratulated IGP Egbetokun on his appointment and praised the commendable performance of the Police Mobile Force in various joint operations.

However, he expressed concern over the recent attack by some soldiers on the Adamawa State Police Command and assured that a thorough investigation was underway.

General Musa emphasized the need for a reorientation drive within all security agencies to foster a more harmonious working relationship. He also proposed joint training sessions for lower-ranking personnel in the Armed Forces and the Police to build rapport and enhance cooperation.

In response, the Inspector General of Police congratulated General Musa on his confirmation as Chief of Defence Staff and expressed the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to improving synergy among all security agencies.

IGP Egbetokun commended the ongoing investigation into the Adamawa incident and expressed confidence that it would be thorough and transparent to prevent future occurrence
