The Commander Training and Doctrine Command, Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Kevin Aligbe, presided over the inauguration of the Examination Panel for the 2024 Lieutenant to Captain Practical Promotion Examination (LCPPE) on Sunday, 4th February 2024.

The event which held at the Rhino Officers’ Mess Headquarters, witnessed the participation of approximately five hundred attendees.

The inauguration of the Examination Panel marks a significant step in ensuring the professional development and preparedness of Nigerian Army officers to tackle evolving security challenges effectively.

In his address, Major General Aligbe, who also serves as the Examination President, urged the panelists to leverage their extensive experience in fulfilling their duties. He emphasized the importance of adhering to the principles of fairness, thoroughness, and uprightness throughout the examination process. The Commander stressed the necessity of objectivity and transparency, highlighting the Nigerian Army Examination Charter as the guiding framework.

Furthermore, Major General Aligbe underscored the imperative of maintaining the integrity and high standards of the Nigerian Army examination, aligning with the vision of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja.

The TRADOC Commander reiterated the COAS’s commitment to nurturing quality officers capable of contributing meaningfully to ongoing counterinsurgency, counterterrorism, and law enforcement efforts.

Warning against any actions that could compromise the examination’s objectives, General Aligbe cautioned that offenders would face appropriate sanctions in accordance with established regulations.

In his welcome address, Major General AE Abubakar, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Special Task Force Operation Safe Haven, lauded the Examination Panelists for their selection. He emphasized the pivotal role of the examination in facilitating career advancement and equipping candidates with the necessary expertise to bolster the nation’s internal security architecture.

The ceremony was attended by dignitaries including Major General PAO Okoye, Chief of Training, TRADOC NA; representatives from Army Headquarters; the Acting Director of Examination, TRADOC Nigerian Army; Principal Staff Officers of 3 Armoured Division; members of the Examination Panel; and observers.
