Senator Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, representing Edo North senatorial zone in the national assembly, has extended his heartfelt sympathy to the Jattu community in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State following a fire outbreak on January 21, 2025, that destroyed shops and goods.

In his message, he expressed sadness over the timing of the incident, which occurred just weeks after the festive season, and recognized the significant losses suffered by traders who had recently restocked their goods in anticipation of the new year.
“I received the heartbreaking news of the fire outbreak with profound sadness,” the former Edo State governor said. “I am deeply grateful to God that no lives were lost. However, I empathize with the pain and frustration of seeing hard-earned investments go up in flames.”
Oshiomhole called on the Jattu community to rally around those affected, providing them with the support needed to rebuild their lives. He also revealed plans to prevent such disasters in the future, announcing ongoing discussions to establish a fully equipped fire station in the region.
“This tragedy highlights the urgent need for better disaster response infrastructure in Afemai land. I am committed to ensuring the establishment of a functional fire station with modern equipment to tackle incidents like this effectively,” he stated.

The senator encouraged the affected traders to remain hopeful and resilient, assuring them of his unwavering support. He prayed for a swift recovery and urged the community to view the incident as an opportunity to strengthen bonds and foster unity.
“Together, we will rebuild and emerge stronger,” Oshiomhole assured.
