At an event commemorating Governor Monday Okpebholo’s first 100 days in office, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, lauded the Governor’s notable accomplishments. The celebration took place at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub on Airport Road, Benin City.

Mrs. Anani highlighted the Governor’s dedication to women’s empowerment and welfare, expressing gratitude for the policies and appointments that have benefited women in the state. She also acknowledged the administration’s efforts in combating insecurity and cultism, noting a significant reduction in youth-related violence.
In his address, Governor Okpebholo reiterated his commitment to transforming Edo State. He outlined plans to elevate the state’s economy, aiming to position Edo as the fifth-largest economy in Nigeria. Key initiatives include prioritizing agriculture, infrastructure development, and youth skill enhancement. The Governor also announced the renovation and reconstruction of 100 schools across the state to improve educational infrastructure.




Mrs. Anani further advocated for increased female representation in governance, emphasizing the capability and dynamism women bring to leadership roles. She has been actively involved in initiatives promoting women’s rights and empowerment, including partnerships aimed at supporting vulnerable women and enhancing digital skills among the youth.
‘Looking ahead, the future of Edo State under my leadership is bright, as evidenced in the progress we have made together. With our economic development plan, we will prioritize agricultural infrastructure and investment in youths’ skills development as the State strives to become one of the leading economies in Nigeria.’
The Governor also highlighted his administration’s achievements, including the launch of an interest-free loan scheme for market women, farmers, and artisans, which will benefit over 5,000 people in collaboration with the World Bank.

The event featured the unveiling of Project SHINE, representing the five-point agenda of the administration. The event also included a lecture on practical governance, cultural display, and musical performance by Timi Dakolo.
Dignitaries drawn from the State Government, national, religious, and traditional rulers amongst others, attended the event.
The event underscored the administration’s focus on inclusive policies and programs designed to uplift the socio-economic status of Edo State residents.
