Former Anambra State Governor and immediate past Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, made a surprise and dramatic appearance at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus meeting on Thursday night, just hours after being granted bail and released from Kuje Correctional Centre.

The meeting, presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the State House Conference Centre, marked Ngige’s return to the political spotlight amid ongoing EFCC prosecution on allegations of abuse of office and corrupt gratification during his ministerial tenure.

Eyewitnesses reported that Ngige arrived looking upbeat, drawing cheers from some presidential aides and party chieftains. His entrance was initially delayed by security protocols before he was cleared to join the gathering.

The caucus meeting, rescheduled to December 18-19, 2025, also featured high-profile attendees including Vice President Kashim Shettima, National Assembly leaders, serving governors, and several recent defectors from the PDP.
