The Nigerian film industry came together in grief on Thursday, January 8, 2026, as Nollywood stars, colleagues, and fans gathered to pay their last respects to beloved actress Allwell Ademola, who passed away recently at the age of 42.

The final rites and burial took place at a private ceremony in Lagos, followed by a deeply emotional candlelight procession attended by top actors, directors, and industry stakeholders.

Allwell Ademola, known for her powerful performances in Yoruba-language films and her warm personality off-screen, was described by many as a “gem” whose talent and kindness left a lasting mark on Nollywood.
