Arsenal have received a major boost with Bukayo Saka agreeing to a new five-year contract that will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until 2031, the club confirmed on Thursday, January 9, 2026.
The England international, 24, who has been with Arsenal since the age of seven, had his previous deal set to expire in 2027. The new agreement makes him the club’s highest earner at around £300,000 per week and reflects his status as one of Europe’s elite wingers.
Saka has been pivotal in Arsenal’s title challenge this season, contributing 7 goals and 6 assists in 27 appearances so far. His extension follows recent long-term deals for key players like William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, Ethan Nwaneri, and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Manager Mikel Arteta had expressed confidence in securing Saka’s future, stating in September 2025: “Everyone knows how important Bukayo is for us so hopefully we can do it.”

Martinelli Hat-Trick Fires Arsenal into FA Cup Fourth Round
On Sunday, January 11, 2026, Gabriel Martinelli stole the headlines with a first career hat-trick as Arsenal came from behind to thrash Championship side Portsmouth 4-1 in the FA Cup third round at Fratton Park.
Portsmouth took an early lead through Colby Bishop (3′), but an own goal from Andre Dozzell (8′) levelled things before Martinelli took over:
25′ — Header from Noni Madueke’s corner
51′ — Finish from Gabriel Jesus assist
72′ — Another header from a set-piece
The Brazilian’s performance was a strong response to recent criticism following his incident with Liverpool’s Conor Bradley in the Premier League draw. Arteta praised his “big personality” after the match.
