This surge in output has been made possible by the full ramp-up of operations and the implementation of a round-the-clock loading system that dispatches over 1,000 trucks daily to depots, major marketers, and retail outlets across the country.
In an official statement, Dangote Industries Limited said the refinery is now operating at near-full capacity, ensuring a steady, reliable, and abundant supply of petrol to eliminate scarcity and stabilise prices nationwide.
“Today, we have achieved what many thought impossible: consistent daily production of 50 million litres of PMS, backed by 24-hour loading operations that move more than 1,000 trucks every single day,” the statement read.

The development marks the end of decades of dependence on imported petrol and positions Nigeria as a potential net exporter of refined petroleum products in the coming months.
Key benefits already being felt include:
No more long queues at filling stations in major cities.
More stable pump prices due to reduced reliance on volatile international markets.
Significant foreign exchange savings for the country.
Improved distribution efficiency through direct loading and supply to marketers.
Group President Aliko Dangote reaffirmed the refinery’s commitment: “We promised Nigerians fuel security and abundance. We are delivering on that promise daily. This is just the beginning our target is to meet 100% of domestic demand and begin exports soon.”
The refinery, which began petrol production in late 2024, has progressively increased capacity through improved crude supply agreements, enhanced logistics, and operational optimisation.

Motorists, transport unions, and industry stakeholders have welcomed the milestone, describing it as a “game-changer” for Nigeria’s economy and daily life.
