Former Kano State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Kwankwaso registered as a member and received his party membership card on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Gidan Kwankwasiyya on Miller Road, Bompai, Kano.

The high-profile event attracted several prominent political figures from across the opposition spectrum, including: Former Senate President David Mark, Former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal, Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, Former Anambra State Governor and 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, Former Kogi State Senator Dino Melaye and Former APC National Chairman John Odigie-Oyegun.
The gathering signals a significant realignment in Nigeria’s opposition politics ahead of the 2027 general elections, as major political heavyweights continue to coalesce around the ADC platform.
