Mamman was on May 7 convicted on all 12 counts preferred against him by the EFCC and sentenced to 75 years in prison for money laundering and fraud involving N33.8 billion linked to the Mambilla and Zungeru Hydroelectric Power Projects.

The dramatic arrest comes as the anti-graft agency intensifies efforts to bring high-profile convicts into custody. Mamman had recently shown interest in contesting the 2027 Taraba State governorship election before his conviction.
