According to a statement released on Friday, June 26, 2026, by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the NHTDAO will not replace existing agencies but will harmonise and strengthen both public and private sector institutions across the health system. It will also set national standards and fully operationalise the National Digital Health Architecture approved by the National Council on Health in November 2025.
