Awards history after becoming the most-awarded artist in the ceremony’s history, surpassing Beyoncé’s long-standing record.
The 36-year-old singer broke the tie on Sunday after receiving the inaugural Artist Director Honors for her work in music video direction and visual storytelling.
Swift and Beyoncé had previously shared the record with 30 Moon Person trophies each. The new award pushed Swift ahead, making her the sole record holder.

She also won Video of the Year for “The Fate of Ophelia,” further extending her record at the awards.
During her acceptance speech, Swift dedicated the award to country music legend Dolly Parton, who recently died, describing her music as an example of powerful storytelling.
“Every single song she wrote, her storytelling was so vivid,” Swift said, reflecting on Parton’s influence and lasting contribution to music.
The recognition also highlights Swift’s work beyond performing, particularly her involvement in directing and shaping the visual stories behind her music.
