A Bill for an Act to Amend the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) Act, Cap.N28, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004 Scaled through second reading during plenary on Wednesday at the House of Representatives, in Abuja
During the debate, lawmakers who joined the deliberations on the proposed amendment harmed the need for the new amendment to be beneficial to the Directorate in particular and Nigerians in general.
The House informed that among other major reasons for the amendment includes, empowering the Directorate to enable it to ensure strict compliance with the Provisions and Principles of Federal Character in employment and vacancies in the country.
The Bill tagged” A Bill for an Act to Amend the National Directorate of Employment Act, Cap N28, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. and for Related Matters, HB 2099 is sponsored by Hon. Ganiyu Abiodun Johnson.
Meanwhile, the House also considered a bill for an Act to provide for the Establishment of the Federal University of History and Archeology, Esie, Kwara State, and for Related Matters, HB.2159.
It would be recalled that the Bill was referred to the Committee of the whole on 22nd December 2022.
