The seventh edition of the Alaghodaro Summit is set to take place in Benin City, Edo State, between November 8 and 12, 2023. This annual summit is organized in partnership with the private sector to mark the anniversary of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s time in office and to showcase the progress made in transforming Edo State into an investment hub.

The theme for this year’s summit is “The Edo Story: Creating Shared Opportunities into the Future.”

According to the statement from the organizing committee, the key panelists and participants for the Economic Summit scheduled for Friday, November 10, 2023, include:

Mr. Michael A. Osime – Chairman, Edo Refinery and Petrochemical Company Limited.
Mr. Tagbo Ozor – Group Executive, Projects, SaroAfrica International Limited.
Alhaji Sadiq Kassim – Group Executive Director, WACOT LTD.
Mr. Kazeem Oladepo – Vice President, Global Independent Connect Limited (GICL).
Engr. Greg Ogbeifun – Chairman, Benin River Port Project.
Mrs. Isimeme Whyte – Founder and Chief Innovative Officer, Genius Hub Global Initiative.
Mr. Edward I. Osayande – Managing Director, Benin Enterprise Park Limited.
Mrs. Uwa Osa-Oboh – Head of Corporate Development, Africa Capital Alliance.
Mrs. Vivien Shobo – Chief Executive Officer, FVS Advisory Partners.

The summit will feature two plenary sessions on Friday, November 10. The first session, titled “A Unique Investment Destination,” will focus on the unique investment opportunities available in Edo State. In the second session, titled “Walking the Talk: From Opportunity to Reality,” speakers will share success stories about the transformative projects implemented by Governor Godwin Obaseki and their positive impact on the lives of Edo State residents.

The Alaghodaro Summit has a history of facilitating important investment decisions in the state, including the N69 billion Edo State Oil Palm Programme (ESOPP) Project, the establishment of two modular refineries, the ongoing development of the Benin Port Project, and the setup of two ethanol plants, among others.

In addition to the Economic Summit, the 2023 edition of the summit will include various activities:

Muslim Prayers, State Award, and Dinner on Friday, November 10, 2023.
Governor’s Golf Tournament, Food Tour, and Youth Concert on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

The Alaghodaro Summit serves as an important platform for discussing investment opportunities and showcasing the progress made in Edo State, making it a significant event on the annual calendar for both the government and the private sector.
