In what can be interpreted as momentous relief to high political drama playing out in Rivers State, annoyingly for some time, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially sided and now fully back His Excellency, Governor Siminalayi Fubara as the leader of the party in Rivers State.

The endorsement of Fubara as the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State by the party’s NWC signifies a critical move towards reconciliation and unity within the party. This decision, announced during a meeting at the Government House in Port Harcourt, reflects the NWC’s confidence in Fubara’s leadership, especially in the aftermath of a significant court ruling that nullified the controversial PDP congresses in the state.
The court’s decision nullifying the contentious congresses paved the way for the appointment of Hon. Robinson Nname Ewor as the acting chairman of the Rivers State PDP, replacing Hon. It will be recalled that the Appeal Court’s ruling reinstating Sir Ude Okoye as National Secretary signposts the party’s commitment to resolving legal disputes and solidifying leadership roles.
