In a historic final at the 2026 Australian Open, Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz produced a dominant display to defeat Serbia’s Novak Djokovic 6-4, 6-3, 7-5 on Sunday, January 26, 2026, securing his first Australian Open crown and becoming the youngest man in history to complete the Career Grand Slam.
At 22 years and 8 months old, Alcaraz surpassed Lleyton Hewitt’s record (who completed the Career Grand Slam at 23 years and 11 months in 2004) by winning all four majors before turning 23.
The straight-sets victory denied the 38-year-old Djokovic what would have been an unprecedented 25th Grand Slam title, extending his own wait for a record-extending 25th major.
