In what appears to be signpost of unease within the ruling party of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ali Ndume representing Borno South, has been dismissed from his position as Chief Whip of the Nigerian upper legislative house, the Senate.

Ndume was promptly replaced with Senator from his state, Tahir Munguno, who is representing Borno North.

The sack may have been orchestrated through a letter from the APC leadership addressed to the senate president, Godswill Akpabio, which frowned at some utterances by Ndume lately, which party hierarchy think are in bad taste and capable of portraying the party in bad light.

The letter of complaint by the APC, further urged Akpabio to advice Senator Ali Ndume to resign from the party and join any other of the oppositions’ party, to be able to ply his newfound trade of leadership criticism.

Specifically, the APC said it was disturbed by Ndume’s uncomplimentary comments about President Bola Tinubu and thought that at a time when all hands are being called on deck to support the Tinubu-led administration, the remarks were in bad taste and unacceptable.

The unfolding scenario seems to be a consequential response to Ndume’s public allegations last week, that President Bola Tinubu was being caged by powerful forces in the presidential villa and has prevented him from knowing that the true situation reports on the living conditions of Nigerians under his government.
