The Managing Director of the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority, Engineer Saliu Ahmed, has congratulated Nigerians on the milestone of the nation’s 63rd independence celebration.

In a press statement issued in Benin City, Edo State capital on Sunday October 1, he reflects his optimism about the future of Nigeria under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu.

Ahmed encourages Nigerians to remain hopeful and patient despite the current challenges the country is facing, saying he believes that better times are ahead.

Importantly, he expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s ability to bring positive change to Nigeria and noted that the President has the skills and strategies to improve the country’s fortunes.

The Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority boss called on Nigerians to support the Tinubu administration, emphasizing that unity and cooperation are essential for building a better and more prosperous nation.

Commenting on the effects that subsidy removal has had to bear on Nigerians, he acknowledged that the removal of the fuel subsidy may be a difficult decision for many, but he believes it is a necessary step to address economic challenges and pave the way for a fresh start.

Prospectively, Engr. Ahmed anticipates that under President Tinubu’s leadership, there will be a greater focus on efficient management of the nation’s water resources, suggesting a positive change in the role and impact of river basin authorities in community development.

Furthermore, Engr. Ahmed acknowledges Nigeria’s journey to its 63rd Independence Day, recognizing the challenges faced along the way.

Importantly, he praised the uninterrupted democracy in the country since 1999 and commends those who played a role in achieving independence.
