The Omo Olofin Foundation, a cultural organization based in Ota, Ogun State, has thrown his weight behind the aspiration of High Chief Olanrewaju Abayomi Bashorun, popularly known as Larry Bash, to represent the people of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government in the Federal House of Representatives 2027.

This endorsement, which was announced at the residence of High Chief Bashorun, can be gleaned not solely as a political statement but a clarion call to serve and continue to uplift the people of Ota Awori land. During the brief announcement ceremony, a prominent indigene who spoke for the group declared; “I, Prince Icon Adebola Ogungbayi (Sky), Chairman and CEO of Omo Olofin TV, alongside distinguished members of our foundation, expressed unwavering support for Seriki, as he is fondly called, for his exemplary dedication to our community”.
It was further highlighted that the qualities which stood out High Chief Bashorun for federal legislative office, among others, included his never-ending muscular support for Ado-Odo/Ota, with contribution to the development of the constituency that outweighs several aspects of government interventions. For instance, his educational initiative, aptly called “Stay in School Foundation,” has been affectionately dubbed a veritable give-back to community. The foundation supports many youths and presently enjoys an enrolment base of over 150 students across the local government. The support is strategically design to cover school fees and certain examination enrolment, ensuring that education remains accessible to the upcoming generation. This initiative, is an eloquent testimony of Seriki’s unwavering commitment to the community’s development.

Hon. Prince Ogungbayi Sunday Adeyemi (OSA), a prominent PDP member, who spoke passionately at the event, emphasized that his support for Seriki’s aspiration transcends party lines. “I remain a card-carrying member of the PDP but my support is for the development of Ado-Odo/Ota, not any individual or party”, he said.
OSA emphasized that he strongly identifies with Seriki, believing that he is the right person to reshape the political narrative of the constituency, vowing to stand by him unless there’s circumstantial shift endorsed by the community.
Asiwaju Kunle Bankole, CEO of Kitigbe TV, also echoed OSA’s sentiments and expressed his long-standing admiration for Seriki. He said, “I have been a fan of his work for years and now that he’s stepping forward, the responsibility lies with him to lead us toward a brighter future.”
Notable community leaders who graced the event includes Comrades Adewale Adeosun, Faolabi Olayinka, Chief Adeyemi Alao Ajibowu (Ajana of Ikola Ogunsye), Kamla Yusuf, Chief Wasiu Fatusi (Aro of Ejigbo Mekun) and Prince Alamu Adeshina (Olobele). Others are Comrades Abayomi Adaranijo (Olu Omo), Ibrahim Babatunde Adeley and Prince Olaniyi Obasanya.. Their presence underscored the unity and collective resolve behind the movement.
