The Ancient town of Idimu, Aworiland, came alive on Thursday as the Lagos State Government formally installed His Royal Majesty, Oba Noah Olayiwola Surakat Adefimihan, as the new Onidimu of Idimu.

During the colourful ceremony, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, represented by Mr. Bolaji Robert, Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Rural Development, presented the Staff of Office and Instrument of appointment to the new monarch.

Notable royal fathers who attended the event includes, the Olota of the Ancient and Paramount Ottaland, His Majesty Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege, Lanlege Ekun II, Arole Iganmode, who was accompanied by His Royal Majesty Oba Akanni Wasiu Ogungbayi, the Onitetiku of Owode-Ota, alongside high chiefs from Ottaland.

The Olota congratulated the new monarch, offering prayers for a reign marked by peace, unity, and prosperity. He reaffirmed the deep bonds of kinship among Awori communities and pledged continued collaboration to preserve their rich cultural heritage and drive development.

The colourful installation ceremony drew traditional rulers from across Lagos and Ogun States, alongside political leaders, community elders and residents. In his address, the Chairman of Alimosho Local Government pledged unwavering support to the palace.

Across social media, indigenes and friends of Idimu celebrated the ascension, commending it as a significant boost to Awori unity and cultural pride.
