The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki is taking concrete steps to address and enhance security in the region by convoking a security summit and the launch of the Edo State Command and Control Centre (EC3), as a demonstration of his commitment to improving the state’s security infrastructure.

The event which will hold on Thursday, December 7, 2023, will host a security summit and officially commission the Edo State Command and Control Centre (EC3).

In a statement, Kingsley Uwagbale, the Edo State Commissioner for Public Safety and Security said the choice of the theme, “Edo State Security Framework: Repositioning for the Future,” indicates a strategic and forward-looking approach to addressing security challenges. The summit may serve as a platform to highlight past achievements in security and discuss plans for the future, emphasizing a comprehensive and evolving security strategy for Edo State.

He added, “The participation, insight, and expertise of all invited stakeholders are crucial to the success of the summit as it will contribute to the discourse on consolidating and improving on the achievements of the Governor Obaseki-led administration in security in Edo State.”

Governor Obaseki’s initiative reflects a proactive stance in ensuring the safety and well-being of the residents of Edo State. Security summits and the launch of dedicated control centers are common strategies employed by governments to address contemporary security challenges and adapt to emerging threats.
