The internal conflicts within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have escalated, leading to the suspension of key national officers, including the Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Illiya Damagum, and National Secretary, Samuel Anyanwu on Thursday.

But by Friday, the party swiftly replaced Damagum with Alhaji Yayari Ahmed Mohammed, who previously served as the PDP’s National Treasurer.

As at the time of filing this report, there has been a court order aborting the suspension and another gale of counter suspensions adding a twist to the unfortunate development, with the Party’s National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade now a victim.

The suspensions are reportedly due to allegations and counter allegations of anti-party activities, prompting the formation of an investigation and disciplinary panel. This development was officially confirmed in a statement by the now-suspended National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba.

These suspensions further highlight the deepening rifts within the PDP, which have intensified since the last presidential election.

This development was confirmed in a statement issued by the just-suspended National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, on Thursday.

The statement reads;
