Justice Onnoghen had initially been convicted by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), led by Umar Yakubu Danladi, on April 18, 2019, resulting in an order for the forfeiture of his four bank accounts.
This acquittal came after the appellate court reviewed the terms of settlement reached between the federal government and Onnoghen, resolving the issues that led to his trial and conviction.
Justice Abba Bello Mohammed delivered the judgment, ordering the return of the previously forfeited bank accounts to Onnoghen.
