The Governor declared his intention to rehabilitate the infrastructures of the transport company after he made an inspection of the abandoned facility on Mission Road in Benin City, alongside Deputy Governor Hon. Dennis Idahosa. The facility tour underscores the administration’s commitment to firsthand assessment of projects and consequent action.

Accompanied by Jaffar Inegbedion, Fleet Manager of Move Monkey, the governor conducted a thorough review of the premises, which had been left in disrepair during the previous administration. Overgrown vegetation and neglected infrastructure illustrate the extent of deterioration, emphasizing the urgency of intervention.

Governor Okpebholo highlighted the importance of breathing new life into Edo Line, aiming to re-establish it as a viable and profitable transportation service. His comments suggest a broader focus on revitalizing state-owned enterprises and boosting economic activity in Edo State.

Without any shadow of doubt, reviving Edo Line could also create employment opportunities, enhance intra-state mobility, and improve the state’s transport sector, benefiting residents and fostering growth. The success of this initiative will depend on sustainable planning, investment in modern infrastructure, and efficient management.

Speaking at the facility site, the Governor said: “I am here to look at Edo Line as this place has been abandoned for years and to see how we can revive it and put it back to use. This place is bushy and is completely abandoned.

“I am trying to find out if these vehicles here are the only assets of Edo Line. The few vehicles you are seeing now were more than this. I know they have more than 200 vehicles. We will look for those vehicles, get them back and use them to revive this place.”
