Nigerian conscious musician and filmmaker Amb. Willie Workman Oga, popularly known as Willie Workman, has scored another major recognition as his short film Through Her Lense receives a nomination at the Directors Guild of Nigeria Awards 2026.
The nomination acknowledges Willie Workman’s commitment to using arts and storytelling to drive social change.
Through Her Lense tells the story of Ehi Ekonu, a teenage environmental photo activist whose passion for the planet pushes her advocacy beyond expectations. The film highlights youth leadership, environmental education, climate action, and the power of visual storytelling in sparking conversations around environmental protection.

The story is inspired by Anu The Photo Girl, an award-winning Nigerian teenage environmental photographer known for using her camera to document climate issues and advocate for a cleaner, greener Nigeria.
Reacting to the nomination, Amb. Willie Workman Oga said:
