The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State has recently suspended several key figures over alleged anti-party activities.

On Monday, the party’s state chairman, Hashimu Dungurawa, announced the suspension of four federal lawmakers including Kawu Sumaila (Kano South), Ali Gini (Dala Federal Constituency), Sani Rogo (Rogo/Karaye Federal Constituency), and Kabiru Rurum (Rano/Kibiya Federal Constituency).

The suspensions were attributed to actions such as sidelining party members in their political engagements.

For instance, Sumaila’s inauguration of a project at his university in Sumaila was conducted without involving NNPP members.

Dungurawa indicated that a committee would be established to investigate these issues further, emphasizing that while the suspensions are in effect, the party remains open to dialogue and potential reinstatement if the lawmakers realign with the party’s values.
