The All Progressives Congress (APC) consensus governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has intensified stakeholder consultations with a visit to former Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Saràfa Tunji Ishola, as part of efforts to strengthen party unity ahead of the 2027 general elections. During the meeting, Adeola commended Ishola for his longstanding contributions to Ogun State and Nigeria, calling for his support and cooperation as the party prepares for the forthcoming governorship race.
The senator emphasized that the ongoing political process should not create divisions within the party but instead foster cohesion and shared responsibility.
“This project is a collective one. It is not about winners or losers but about the progress and development of Ogun State,” he said.

In his response, Ambassador Ishola welcomed the delegation and congratulated Adeola on his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate. Ishola disclosed that he has developed a 64-page socio-economic blueprint for Ogun State and expressed willingness to share it with Adeola for possible integration into his policy framework. He also reflected on his engagements with key political figures such as Olusegun Osoba, Gbenga Daniel, and Ibikunle Amosun, noting that he has consistently advocated for stable political transitions and continuity in governance. While acknowledging that he was not part of a recent APC stakeholders’ meeting, Ishola described Adeola’s visit as a positive step toward reconciliation and inclusiveness.
Other stakeholders, including Baba Ajibola and Chief Mrs. Akpampa, commended Ishola for his statesmanship and contributions to Ogun State, urging continued collaboration among party leaders. The visit also featured the presentation of documents detailing Ishola’s political and socio-economic contributions over the years.
