The committee cited several reasons for the disqualification of the 65 other aspirants, including nomination by individuals who were not financially up-to-date members of the party, attempted inducement or bribery, submission of unsworn affidavits, failure to present voter cards or party membership slips, conflicting dates of birth, irregularities in documentation, and insufficient or invalid nominators, among others.
All 29 incumbent members, led by Deputy Speaker Dumle Maol, were cleared to participate in the APC primaries for the 2027 Assembly elections.
