The emergency session comes amid heightened public concern over the escalating wave of banditry, kidnapping, terrorism, and violent crimes in several parts of the country, including recent attacks in Oyo, Kogi, and Plateau states.

Senate sources indicate that the sitting will focus on urgent legislative interventions, enhanced security funding, intelligence coordination, and possible constitutional reforms to strengthen the nation’s security architecture.
