Veteran Nollywood actor Dele Odule has paid tribute to his late colleague and friend of nearly four decades, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, describing his passing as a loss that no words can adequately convey.
Writing on his official Instagram page on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, Odule reflected on their long-standing bond, which began in their youth and blossomed into a brotherhood spanning nearly 40 years.

“Taiwo, this is a loss that no words I put out can adequately describe.
“My dear friend and brother of nearly 40 years. Ours was one of those friendships that life just blesses one with. When we met as young men trying to navigate life, who between us would have thought we would form a bond that would last for decades and turn friends into brothers,” Odule wrote.
Odule also shared nostalgic videos on his Instagram Stories capturing fun moments between the duo, including clips of them dancing together at social events.

Hailing Ogogo’s immense contributions to Nigerian theatre and his proud heritage as an Ilaro, Ogun State indigene, Odule extolled the late actor’s artistic legacy and human connection.
He also highlighted the national mourning that followed the news of Ogogo’s passing, noting how fans, colleagues, and the people of his hometown in Ilaro rallied to honour his memory.
Expressing personal grief over the void left by Ogogo’s departure, Odule referenced their iconic trio alongside veteran actor Yinka Quadri.

“I will miss you a lot, Taiwo. I will miss the happiness you always exude. Who will Yinka and I banter with now?” Odule lamented.
“You won’t be here to remind me that you are my big brother. You have left Yinka to continue that with me. We will both miss the brotherhood we shared for years.
“Your departure has left a space that cannot be filled. Even the whole world knows that we didn’t just lose our colleague. We lost a brother… Rest well, my brother. You will never be forgotten. May the Almighty Allah accept your good deeds and grant you Al-Jannah Firdaus,” he concluded.

The emotional tribute comes following the burial of the iconic Yoruba actor in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State, where he was laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
Odule was among the Nollywood stars who attended the funeral to bid their final farewells.
Ogogo’s passing on Sunday, August 23, followed a battle with stage-four cancer, drawing nationwide tributes from political leaders, fans, and key figures across the entertainment industry.
