Ado-Odo/Ota, Ogun State — The Peoples Democratic Party candidate for Ado-Odo/Ota State Constituency 1, Hon. Chief Abayomi Omoroga, The Eletu of Ota Awori Kingdom, on Tuesday officially flagged off his campaign at the Omoroga Campaign Office in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government.

The event, attended by party leaders, royal fathers, ward executives, youth and women groups, artisans, and community stakeholders, marked the commencement of PDP’s mobilization ahead of the Ogun State House of Assembly election.

In his address, Hon. Omoroga described the campaign as a movement “to rescue, represent, and rebuild” the constituency. He thanked the PDP leadership for the trust reposed in him, calling the party’s nomination “a sacred covenant to serve, to represent, and to deliver.”

Focus On People’s Welfare
The candidate said his mandate would be anchored on pro-people legislation, oversight, and grassroots engagement. He pledged to sponsor bills that will improve road infrastructure, strengthen primary healthcare centers, enhance security, and create opportunities for traders, artisans and small businesses across Ilogbo, Sango, Ota and Owode.

He also promised to ensure accountability in the implementation of government projects and allocations meant for Ado-Odo/Ota, stressing that “our people must feel the impact of government in their daily lives.”

Return Of Town Hall Meetings
A major highlight of his speech was the commitment to revive periodic Town Hall Meetings across all wards in the constituency.
“Democracy must return to the grassroots. You will speak, we will listen, we will plan together, and I will give you feedback. That is how we bring government back to the people,” he stated.

Cultural Correction And Traditional Institution
Speaking as The Eletu of Ota Awori Kingdom, Hon. Omoroga expressed concern over divisions within traditional institutions. He promised to work with royal fathers, stakeholders and the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to review the history of traditional leadership in the area, correct errors, and restore dignity to the stools.
“Our traditional institution is the soul of Awori land. It must not be weakened by division or politicization. Our heritage must be protected for generations to come,” he said.

Pledge To PDP And Ogun West Agenda
Hon. Omoroga appreciated the PDP for choosing “service over sentiment” and pledged loyalty to the party’s vision and to the leadership of the Ogun State gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Chief Oladipupo Adebutu.
He reiterated commitment to unity, peace and the progress of Ogun State, particularly the Ogun West agenda.

He concluded by calling on the people of Ado-Odo/Ota Constituency 1 to give him their mandate for visible, accessible and impactful representation.

The campaign flag-off ended with chants of solidarity from party members who described Hon. Omoroga as a leader with both traditional authority and grassroots connection.
