The 2023 Alaghodaro Summit in Edo State, organized by the private sector to mark the anniversary of the State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, promises to be a memorable event.

In a statement, the Chairperson, Local Organising Committee and Executive Secretary, Alaghodaro Economic Summit Limited/Gte, Eire Ifueko Alufohai, said this will be the seventh edition of the annual investment summit and is set to highlight the impact of Obaseki’s leadership since 2016 and the government’s transformative programs and policies over the past seven years.

Alufohai said, the theme of the summit, “The Edo Story: Creating Shared Opportunities into the Future,” underscores the focus on the state’s prosperous future.

This year’s event scheduled to take place in Benin City, the capital of Edo State, from Wednesday, November 8 to Sunday, November 12, 2023. The summit aims to bring together leaders from the private and public sectors, both from within and outside the state.

With the theme, “The Edo Story: Creating Shared Opportunities into the Future,” this year’s edition will help spotlight the transformative programmes and policies by the government over the past seven years which have improved the lives of millions of Edo people and chart the course for the State’s prosperous future.

Alufohai noted that the annual summit, which has become a think tank to share insights and review efforts at making Edo State a thriving economic and industrial hub. It’s an opportunity to showcase the progress made over the years and to foster partnerships and collaborations for the state’s future development.

Importantly, she announced the schedule for the summit which includes various activities:
Edo Women Conference on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.
Ancient City Tour and Cocktail on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
The main Alaghodaro Summit, Muslim Prayers, Award, and Dinner on Friday, November 10, 2023.
Governor’s Golf Tournament, Food Fair, and Youth Concert on Saturday, November 11, 2023.
Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 12, 2023.

The organizers encourage all Edo people to participate in this significant event, anticipating positive transformations and partnerships that will contribute to the state’s growth and development.
“We urge all Edo people to be a part of the epochal event, as we anticipate witnessing the positive transformations and significant partnerships that are sure to result from this year’s summit, much like the successful outcomes seen in past editions”, said Alufohai.
