Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua delivered a commanding performance, knocking out YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in the sixth round of their highly anticipated heavyweight clash at the Kaseya Center on Friday night (Saturday morning in some regions), December 19-20, 2025.
The bout, streamed live on Netflix, saw Joshua (now 29-4, 26 KOs) drop Paul four times twice in the fifth and twice in the sixth before a devastating straight right hand floored the influencer, prompting the referee to wave off the contest at 1:31 of Round 6.
Paul (12-2, 7 KOs), who entered with a six-fight win streak, showed resilience by surviving early rounds through lateral movement and clinching, but Joshua’s power and size advantage proved overwhelming. Reports indicate Paul suffered a broken jaw and was taken to hospital post-fight.
In his in-ring interview, Joshua admitted it “wasn’t the best performance” due to ring rust from a 15-month layoff but celebrated the win and immediately called out Tyson Fury: “We want the Tyson Fury fight. That’s the biggest fight in boxing.”
Paul, despite the defeat, remained defiant: “I got my ass beat… I’m going to come back and keep on winning.” He plans to heal and target a cruiserweight world title.
