Nollywood actress and producer Bolaji Ogunmola has tearfully called out United Nigeria Airlines for repeated flight delays and cancellations that left her stranded at the Ekiti Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport for over 24 hours, causing her to miss the first day of shooting for a new film project budgeted at around ₦20 million.
In an emotional Instagram live video on Thursday morning, January 8, 2026, a visibly distraught Ogunmola narrated how her scheduled flight from Ekiti to Lagos on Wednesday was delayed and eventually cancelled without adequate communication or alternatives.
“I was supposed to fly yesterday… They delayed, then cancelled. No plan, nothing. This morning, they said 8am, I got here early now it’s 9:30, then 12, now 5:30pm. My crew, actors, everything is on set in Lagos waiting. I’ve cried my eyes out,” she said, breaking down.
The actress, who had travelled to Ekiti for prior work commitments, revealed the disruption forced her production team to idle, incurring heavy losses on logistics, catering, and bookings already costing ₦15-20 million.
Fearing further delays, Ogunmola said she eventually opted for a risky road trip back to Lagos despite security concerns on Nigerian highways. “I’m stuck in a state where I don’t know anybody… Now I have to go by road.”

She vowed legal action: “My lawyer will take this up. This is evidence,” stressing the video was for documentation, not drama.
United Nigeria Airlines later issued a statement apologising for the disruption, attributing it to unscheduled aircraft maintenance. The airline claimed notifications were sent and a special flight was arranged, while assuring compliance with NCAA passenger care regulations.
The incident has sparked outrage online, with fans and colleagues sympathising and criticising domestic airlines’ reliability.
