The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has secured victory in all chairmanship and councillorship seats in Osun State’s 30 local government areas, marking a significant political development.

The Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), Hashim Abioye, announced this at a press conference on Saturday.

However, the circumstances surrounding the election are noteworthy, especially given the warnings from the police and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Lateef Fagbemi.

Despite these concerns, the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC) proceeded with the poll, and Governor Ademola Adeleke praised the exercise as peaceful.

“The process has been very peaceful, I made a broadcast to my good people of Osun State that this election should be peaceful, there should be no violence because Osun State is a very peaceful state,” said Gov Adeleke.

This outcome solidifies the PDP’s control over grassroots governance in the state, but it also raises questions about potential legal challenges or federal government interventions.

The OSSIEC Chairman declared the newly elected chairmen in Osun State, thus:
