CONFIRMED: Oshiomhole Declared Winner of Edo Senatorial District

Former Governor and Senatorial candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC in Edo North, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole has been officially declared the winner of the Edo North Senatorial election with total votes of 107,110. |

Oshiomhole defeated his closet rival, incumbent Senator Francis Alimikhena (a retired army officer) of the people’s Democratic party (PDP) who polled 55,354 votes.
The returning officer, Prof Buniyamin Adesina Ayinde, who declared the senatorial result said, Oshiomhole polled 107,110, Alimikhena, scored 55,354 votes and Labour Party candidate, Aslem Eragbe, scored 15,923 votes.
The Edo North Senatorial District is comprised of Etsako West, Etsako East, Etsako Central, Owan East, Owan West and Akoko Edo.
It will be recalled that Senator Alimikhena was seeking a third term in office under APC but lost to Oshiomhole who had been former Governor and national chairman of the party.
Alimikhena won the ticket twice and represented the Edo North senatorial district on the platform of the APC, hurriedly decamped to the PDP after he lost his third attempt to Oshiomhole.
