The Direct Digital Sales Agent, DDSA, which was spearheaded by visionary entrepreneur Dopamu Olaniyi, CEO and Managing Director of D-Degree Digital Hub, is an application designed to enable seamless work-from-home opportunities, leveraging digital technologies to connect young Africans with global employment prospects and interactive opportunities.

According to Segun Agunbiade, COO, the app will serve as a comprehensive ecosystem, integrating tools for skill development, job matching, and remote collaboration, tailored to meet the needs of diverse industries such as technology, banking, insurance, hospitality, agriculture, creative arts, small-scale business, and more.

“This is a game-changer for Africa’s youth,” Segun stated. “With Nigeria’s youth unemployment rate exceeding 42% and millions entering the labor market annually, our application will empower young people with the skills and opportunities to thrive in a digital economy, all from the comfort of their homes”, said Agunbiade.

The platform will feature advanced functionalities such as virtual training modules and partnerships with global companies to facilitate remote work. It also plans to support AI-driven job recommendations and entrepreneurship by offering resources for startups and small businesses, fostering a vibrant digital ecosystem.

Industry experts are excited about the proposed launch, saying the initiative is a bold step towards addressing Africa’s youth unemployment crisis. According to Mechanical Engineer Oyindamola Ogungbayi, the rapidly growing tech market can leverage mass-target apps like DDSA, saying that, “Digital platforms like this can bridge the skills gap and connect young Africans to global opportunities”.

D-Degree Digital Hub is collaborating with local and international partners, including Mastercard Africa-sponsored-Jitume platform, banks, insurance, pension companies, educational institutions and others from several sectors, to ensure the app’s scalability and impact.

The launch will activate operations on the app, beginning with agent stakeholders on June 31, 2025, on a pilot phase targeting Nigeria before expanding to other African countries.

As Africa’s digital economy is projected to reach $180 billion by 2025, initiatives like D-Degree’s application are poised to position Nigeria as a leader in digital trade and innovation. With the promise of creating millions of jobs, this platform could redefine the future of work for African youth.
