The refinery, which produces approximately 650,000 barrels per day (with plans to double output in the next three years), has become the dominant domestic supplier following the removal of fuel subsidies. The rapid price reviews reflect the direct pass-through of international crude costs to pump prices.

Marketers and depot operators are expected to adjust retail prices upward in the coming days, potentially pushing petrol above ₦1,200–1,300/litre at filling stations and diesel well beyond ₦1,700/litre in some locations.
