• Benue attack claims lives in Otukpo community
  Gunmen attacked Efeyi village in Otukpo LGA early Tuesday. Local officials say at least 14 villagers were killed and several others injured. The Otukpo council chairman blamed armed herders and noted similar incidents in nearby communities. Police say investigations are ongoing.
• US to stop routine visa processing at Abuja embassy
  The US State Department announced it will end routine immigrant and non-immigrant visa services at the Abuja embassy and 23 other African missions from August. Services will be moved to regional hubs to improve security and efficiency. Applicants are advised to check new locations.
• Nigeria tops Africa in petrol price surge amid Middle East conflict
  MEMAN reports Nigeria recorded the sharpest petrol price increase in Africa after the US-Iran conflict disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Tankers were rerouted around the Cape of Good Hope, stretching delivery times. The deregulated market transmitted the shock directly to pumps.
• Dangote Refinery drives shift to local fuel supply
  Despite the price surge, MEMAN says Nigeria’s downstream sector saw a major shift. Local refining share of PMS rose significantly as Dangote Refinery scaled up. It now accounts for the majority of local supply. Diesel and cooking gas also saw higher domestic production, though imports were still approved during peak demand between February and April.
• Nigeria’s imports to China soar in first half
  The Chinese Embassy said imports from Nigeria jumped sharply in the first half of the year. Officials credited zero-tariff policies and stronger trade ties. Both countries are pushing for more cooperation in agriculture, manufacturing and energy.
• Ex-Port Harcourt refinery MD arraigned over money laundering
