Edo Governorship Candidate, Onaiwu Mourns Cairo Ojougboh

Dr. Earl Osaro Onaiwu, a prominent candidate for the Edo Governorship under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed his deep condolences following the sudden passing of Dr. Hon. Cairo Ojougboh. Ojougboh, a notable figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former member of the House of Representatives, who passed away unexpectedly while watching the AFCON semi-finals match between Nigeria and South Africa.

Dr. Onaiwu, who described Ojougboh as a close friend and long-time associate spanning several decades, reminisced about their recent encounter at a wedding in Abuja, where they shared jovial moments together.

He expressed his shock and sorrow over Ojougboh’s sudden demise, emphasizing his warm personality and ability to connect with individuals from all political affiliations without prejudice.

“Cairo was a jolly good fellow who had a knack for interfacing with politicians on all sides without qualms and irrelevant dispositions and I will personally miss his brotherly love.”

In his message of condolence, Dr. Onaiwu extended his sympathies to the entire Ojougboh family, praying for strength and comfort during this difficult time. He highlighted Ojougboh’s numerous professional and political achievements, underscoring the positive impact he had on those around him.

“I condole with the entire Ojuogboh family and pray the good Lord grant them the fortitude and equanimity to bear the loss, going forward with the fond memory that Cairo lived a full life with many professional and political accomplishments”, said Onaiwu.

Dr. Onaiwu also indicated that he and other mutual friends of Ojougboh would await further details regarding funeral arrangements before offering additional remarks.

While the Ojuogboh family has yet to release an official statement, the confirmation of Ojougboh’s passing by the Publicity Secretary of Agbor Community Union, Mr. Augustine Ekamagule, has brought the news to light through various media outlets.
