Kwara State Police Command has confirmed a shocking and gruesome murder case, where a 45-year-old man Ekene Enemor, has confessed to killing his pregnant wife Esther Enemor and harvested her body parts for ritual purposes in Ilorin, the state’s capital.

The police were alerted to the crime after neighbors reported suspicious activity and bloodstains around the couple’s residence. Upon investigation Esther’s dismembered body was found, with several key body organs including her head and hands, missing.
Ekene was based in Moshe Gada village in Kaiama, kwara north while he kept another residence in Temidire Zone 6 community, Egbejila, Ilorin where the gruesome murder was perpetrated.
The assailant confessed to the crime during interrogation, stating that he killed his wife for ritual purposes. However, in a bizarre twist, he died while in police custody under mysterious circumstances, with his stomach swelling abnormally.
The police have arrested Ekene Enemor’s younger brother Sylvester Enemor, in connection with the crime and are continuing their investigation to apprehend other suspects linked to the crime.
In a related development, the police said it has also arrested 44 individuals linked to various crimes, including kidnapping, armed robbery and ritual activities. Several weapons and electronic gadgets were parts of the recovered exhibits.
The Kwara state Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo during a press briefing at the Kwara State Police Headquarters in Ilorin on Thursday, described the case as “a most horrific example of human cruelty”, assuring that the police command was working to ensure justice is served and to prevent further crimes in the state.
