Ikebiri Kingdom Congratulates Gov. Douye Diri on his Re-election

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) family in Ikebiri Kingdom in Southern Ijaw Ward 3, Constituency IV has felicitated with Senator Douye Diri and his deputy Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo on their well deserved landslide victory at the just concluded Nov. 11, 2023 governorship election in Bayelsa State.

Speaking with newsmen in Yenagoa on Thursday, a Chieftain of the PDP from Ikebiri Kingdom, Christopher Johnson Kiyaramo expressed satisfaction with developmental strides of the prosperity administration, particularly in the area of road infrastructure, education, health and the unprecedented internal security architecture that has made Bayelsa the most peaceful in the commity of states.

Mr. Kiyaramo, who extolled the visionary leadership style of Governor Diri, commended him for the ongoing Bayelsa Central Senatorial road project, the solar street lights, and the number of appointments that the Kingdom has enjoyed.

He expressed the confidence that the governor, during his second tenure, would be able to construct a road to connect communities in Southern Ijaw Ward 3.

He said Governor Diri has set the tone for strong communication among all stakeholders in the polity by being approachable, open to suggestions, and swift to diffuse toxic behaviours, adding that: “Sen. Diri created an inclusive political environment that has an ‘open-door’ policy, such that the followers at all levels feel comfortable sharing their needs and experiences with the Miracle Governor.”

The Ikebiri PDP family also showed appreciation to the Distinguished Senator Konbowei Friday Benon for his fatherly role in ensuring hitch free electionering campaigns that culminated in the peaceful gubernatorial election on November 11, which saw Senator Douye Diri and his deputy Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo emerging victorious to continue a second term in office.
The PDP stalwart also thanked the entire PDP family in Ikebiri Kingdom, particularly the youths, women groups, chiefs, the local security, the elders and the all stakeholders for their show of unprecedented maturity during and after the election.
