The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, as the new spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force. Hundeyin succeeds Deputy Commissioner of Police, Muyiwa Adejobi, who has been redeployed to the Delta State Police Command.

He obtained his bachelor’s degree in English Language from Lagos State University before pursuing a master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology at the University of Ibadan. His academic journey laid a strong foundation for a career marked by critical thinking, problem-solving and effective communication.
Hundeyin joined the Nigeria Police Force as a cadet officer and has since risen steadily through the ranks to his current position. Over the years, he has complemented his policing duties with professional training, including earning a prestigious certificate in Civil–Military Coordination from the Martin Luther Agwai International Leadership and Peacekeeping Training Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State.
His career is decorated with several awards and commendations, in recognition of his outstanding service to the nation. Notable among them are United Nations Medal for Peacekeeping Operations in Darfur, Inspector General of Police Commendation Award for Excellence, Lagos State Governor’s Award for Gallantry and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Award for Professionalism
